Well Hello, I’m using this as a platform to let myself write and reconnect with me and at a great time too! One thing i truly love is Autumn and with the first few cold breezes coming in we are finally starting to get a hint of an Irish weather again in the midlands. --Which is unfortunate truly. That as one of the wettest islands we have lost the Baltic weather that is so characteristic of our archipelago.--
Autumn is known as a transitional period into winter and often treated as such by most practitioner with the key exception of our most famously exported celebration Samhain but this festivity is merely the end of it and the welcome of winter in accordance to the farming calendar; which as you might suspect is the root of most of the local traditions, folk festivals and Bank Holidays. a lovely sweet treat for the island that happens to fall on ancient holidays but most of the population won't even celebrate just take the well received shut down of almost all but a cheeky Tesco and the two pubs of the village. Which bring me back from the massive tangent.
This is not a transitional period but a change in its own right and connecting with nature before it all changes is a good point in time! Winter is often seen as the time where you look inwards and relearn, heal and set the seeds, plan for the seasons ahead. Darling Autumn is about enjoying that which you plan the last year! yes you may have not planned, or you may be starting now. That is still a good moment to plan, as you are seeing the very edge of the harvest you can asses what are your needs. I have fallen off the wagon incredibly. I don´t cleanse, protect or even journal my dreams. You are meant to keep track, read, feel yourself. So that is what i will do. Well not all of it that would be unmanageable.
List to rekindle my practice:
- would you believe it i don’t even have a candle! so candles! the ones that stand on their own preferably. white or purple. specially purple.
- Meditate at least Friday night after a pint. I have the notions now: Meditation does not require you to do a mantra but to be able to focus and know what is your energy, what is your heart beat and what is your breathing. understanding these three difference and feeling them is very important. Make sure you do not induce psychosis on to yourself by learning to understand your body for fuck sakes.
- Journal again, set intentions for your week that nurish that brain of yours and helps you get peace. such as starting a petition to the council so they stop being such bastards and get the blasted officials of housing to be useful or sometimes curse your landlord to stop being a ripe cunt but always verify! you always check that yer-one is not protected as you may also need protection before handling any spells.
- Salt, start protecting yourself after cleansing with it. Cleanse, cleanse,Cleanse. What are we doing? we should be opening and releasing and clearing our path weekly at least but i am a lazy and busy woman. So perhaps a monthly cleansing and protection on full moon nights should be enough, i don't even have any enemies but as you explore your inner world and try to connect with your surroundings, your environment should be cleared of ill will.
- Glamour spells. This is important for me, i like my hair and would prefer to look amazing constantly thank you very much.
- Get a better sleep routine and wake up routine so cycling to work doesn´t end up eradicating every fibre of you little bones
If any of this is helpful to you too well i hope you enjoy some of that list. Stretching and recharging should be a daily thing but aren´t we all incredibly busy, setting time for reconnecting is very important. If you are in need of knowing how to go about cleansing in an easier and less exhausting manner here:
